About vrm
Villes Régions Monde (VRM) is a strategic cluster funded by the Fonds de recherche Québec – Société et Culture (FRQSC). It is also supported by four main universities: INRS, Université de Montréal, Université du Québec à Montréal, and Université Laval. Founded in 2000, the network has been directed by Sandra Breux (INRS) since January 2019. The team brings together over 75 researchers from Quebec and about fifteen partners from professional backgrounds to address issues related to land organization and development, planning, environment, local sector management, and new urban challenges. VRM is primarily dedicated to animating, disseminating, and promoting research on urban issues. Its program of activities reflects a partnership approach and aims to mobilize knowledge in a field that includes several disciplines from the social sciences and humanities. Finally, VRM contributes to the training of new researchers in urban studies and their integration into academic and professional environments.
